CODE OF CONDUCT

This Code of Conduct provides a minimum standard of behaviour for

The Broch Group Mid-Essex Football League and their members.

PLAYERS

bulletShake hands with match officials and opponents after the game regardless of the result or incidents which may have occurred.
bulletThe use of foul or abusive language towards match officials, opponents or spectators is strictly forbidden. This includes comments which are deemed to be racialist or of a derogatory nature.
bulletIf the game is played in a public park or area please respect the local community in avoiding excessive foul language which can often be used in frustration.
bulletAllow the Referee to officiate the game and handle incidents which occur, do not harass the Referee or continually question his decisions.
bulletDo not retaliate against your opponents.
bulletTreat the changing rooms and facilities of all Clubs you visit with respect.
bulletThe competition expects fair play at all times.
bulletRemember you are representing your Club and the League, enjoy your game but learn to win and lose with dignity.

OFFICIALS (Team Managers, Club Officials etc) 

bulletRemember to meet and greet the Referee and your opponents prior to the game.
bulletArrange for someone to act as the Assistant Referee before kick-off and ensure that person is made known to the Referee.
bulletEncourage your players in the correct spirit of the game.
bulletDo not abuse the Referee, your own players, your opponents or the Assistant Referee.
bulletTake full responsibility for your own supporters any signs of unruly or unacceptable behaviour please deal with immediately.
bulletPlease stay off the field of play at all times during the course of the game unless expressly requested to do so by the Referee.
bulletEnsure you have available an adequate First Aid kit (a bucket of water and a sponge is NOT acceptable).

SPECTATORS and SUPPORTERS

bulletAny person who is standing on the touchline is deemed to be associated with one of the teams participating in the game and therefore has a responsibility to uphold good behaviour, unruly behaviour could lead to a hefty fine.
bulletKeep off the field of play at all times.
bulletDo not abuse the match officials, however much you might disagree with their decision.
